" The Tree of Honor Memorial Site" Terry
Perry- Chairperson of Project Yellow Ribbon and a mother of an Army
soldier established our Tree of Honor in November 2004. Our first
Tree of Honor was erected in the Malta Gazebo. The second tree was
erected and stood in the city park in Glens Falls from November 2004
until January 2005. At this time we have our third "Tree of Honor
on display in the Wilton Mall, Wilton, New York. It will be on display
until December 30, 2005. Our
"Tree of Honor" represents past, present men and woman who
are and did serve in our Armed Forces. Whether living or pasted, in
battle or on the home front, every veteran deserves to be remembered
and recognized not only as a soldier, but also as a human being with
a family, friends, and a purpose beyond the battle. The Tree of Honor
represents the POW/MIA'S so they too will be forever fixed in our
hearts and mines. The tree should stand tall and proud as our veterans
should. It represents freedom, sacrifices, and the hope of a peaceful
world. It's not war that we honor with our tree but the brave men
and women who often must sacrifice all for love of life, liberty and
their country.
